AMCU T-BAS Tier2 V4.4 (2016)
"A new lightweight type, the Tiered Body Armour System (developed over a two-year period), was presented to Australian troops in Afghanistan for operational use in 2011. This consisted of a Tier 2 variant for dismounted close combatants and a Tier 3 version for general combatants.
The research involved conducting questionnaires and focus groups with troops to gain assessments of the armour systems they wore. This assessment activity was the next stage in an ongoing cycle in which the lessons gained from using equipment on operations informed future design and use of the system. DST had previously supported the development of the system with studies ranging from thermal loading, physical mobility, and the protection of vital organs as well as optimising the design based on survey measurements of the size and shape of Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel.
The team also visited three forward bases and observed dismounted close combatant troops in seven different operational roles as they prepared for and carried out their normal tasks. The researchers made written records and took photos of what each soldier had on and stored in each pouch. Since soldiers are being asked to carry increasing amounts of gear, knowing what items they already carry was seen to be essential when determining what extra items, if any, could be added, and what excessive items were not required.
As a result of the research, minor adjustments were suggested to the design of the Tier 2 Vest and several of the soldier combat ensemble pouches."

DPCU Body Armour
This is the first body armour in Auscam. As we known ADA and Hellweg made this BA , first issued in 1999 until 2008 MCBAS made in DPCU , and now still using in training. Some people will ask why this BA has been used until 2008 that long time, in this 10 years, ADF designed few different version of DPDU BA but none of it made for DPCU. The reason why i think it's because first Australia didn't have big operation and need DPCU , second is , they may want to find out the final best design of BA , so MCBAS seems the final best BA they think and now they finally made the DPCU version for that. so that's why it step big forward from this obsoleted BA to MCBAS.

PLATYPUS DPCU Special Force Body armour with NSN
Tactical Assault Group Body Armour
This is Rare Platypus made body armour for Special force with NSN. First seen on 1999 East Timor. It should be only issued to special force soldiers but some reason, we still found very few of the regular army was wearing this also. Velcro design on front and back for removeable Magzines pouch , PTT pouch , on Back have field dressings and smoke grenades pouch and it should have a shortgun holders but i don't have that in my collection. This BA was using until 2005 even the DPDU body armour was issued , i think it's because it's more comfortable then ADA/Hellweg made body armour. TAG E/W are stilling using this in black colour. Presonally think this design wasn't orginally by Platypus because the similar design body armour was appeared in late 70s for SASR in CQB operation.
